About our music marketing programs
Music is an integral part of everything we do, even when we’re focused on the visuals.
Since we started, we’d been producing music programs for our friends and clients. We were doing them the old school way – mixtapes, then CDs. With the success of our Triple 5 Soul Music and 21st Century Style programs, in 2004 we started streaming the Global Soul Radio Show online, playing eclectic mixes and interviews and music we thought needed to be heard.
And then, we learned about RSS with enclosures (that’s podcasting). A great day, that was. A way to share music almost instantly to our email list? We thought that was worth getting into. So, we got it together and started what would be the first urban music podcast in the world. A version of the Global Soul show for your mobile device. Mobile. Soul. After some short tests in 2004, we worked with Vibe magazine, who was looking for a solution to put music on Vibe.com, and viola! Mobile Soul to the world!
The first 5 shows caught the attention of everyone from E! on TV to hundreds of blogs worldwide. And then, in 2005, Trace magazine.
We started Trace’s music program with special exclusive shows featuring our international music styles, mixing pop with underground, classics with demos and advance releases, dance, rock and hip-hop and interviews. “Music Uncommon” went on to generate just over 20,000 downloads. We got the hint. People liked the show. So we kept it going.
Today we reach over 10,000 people per show, and have featured guest mixes and interviews with artists like HEAVy, Simon Grey, DJ Ohsokool, Mark de Clive-Lowe, and Brotherly, and special guest mixes from DJ friends in the US, Seoul, Tokyo, Dubai, London, Accra, Sydney, Kingston, and Vienna.
Mobile Soul is another way we stay tuned into tomorrow.
